"TRUE F***G STORY....CELEBRITiIES DISCOVERED"

Hi Friends!

Yes, for the most part you have to be talented to be successful in the entertainment industry. Talented, and possessing an extraordinary combination of passion and drive. Still, there are an awful lot of people out there trying to maker it....so it doesn't hurt to be in the right place at the right time.

Several examples:

Actor Chloe Sevigny was just 17 years old and skateboarding in Manhattan when she spotted by someone who worked for a prestigious modeling agerncy. Sevigny was subsequently signed to a modeling contract and just a short time later made her big-screen debut in the indie movie "Kids".

Actor Natalie Portman was even younger (age 11) when she was having some pizza in Manhattan with some friends. She was approached by a representative of Revlon to model as well but passed up this opportunity, using her new contacts to pursue her dream of becoming an actor. Still very young, she made her debut in the film "The Professional".

Actor Jennifer Lawrence was 14 and spending the day with her mother; they were walkiung through Union Square when someone asked to take her picture. I guess her mother was comfortable with the idea because within days dozens of modeling and acting offers started to roll in...and Ms, Lawrence was on her way.

Comic/writer/actor/rapper Donald Glover was attending the Tisch school at NYU and doing a web-based comedy show; his performance created a "buzz" that somehow reached the ears of someone named Tina Fey...who subsequently hired Glover to work on her show "30 Rock".

Actor Charlize Theron was 19 and had moved to Hollywood from South Africa in search of acting jobs. Standing on line at a bank, she got into a fight with a teller who refused to aloow her to cash a check her mother had sent her from home. The argument developed into a major confronattion...and standing behind Ms. Theron? A talent scout who handed her his business card at the conclusion of the argument...and who helped get her the first of many acting jobs.

Actor David Boreanez was living in Hollywood and having trouble finding acting work...until one day he was out walking his dog and spotted by someone who worked for "Buffy The Vampire Slayer - and thought he would be perfect for the role of "Angel". And the star of "Buffy"...Sarah Michelle Geller...wasn't even in kindergarten when she was discovered....in the audience, not as a participant...at a children's beauty contest - and signed shortly thereafter to a modeling contract!

Actor Ellen Pompeo was working - or perhaps the correct term is "slaving" - behind the counter at the "Soho Bar And Grill" when she started to converse with a customer who possessed the contacts needed for Ms. Pompeo to snag some roles in small movies and television shows.

Now my personal favorite: actor Stephen Furst ("Flounder" in "Animal House") wasn't getting very far in terms of his career when he took a job delivering pizza. He hit upon the idea of including his picture and resume inside every box of pizza he delivered...and one of those deliveries found its way to the producers of "Animal House"...who immediately realized that Furst would be perfect for the role of "Flounder"!

So...as unlikely as these stories are...you never know. Although...with the possible exception of Stephen Furst, it probably does help to be really cute as well as talented.

Anyone need a middle-aged pizza delivery man?

Oh well...

TFS. Right?

Bye for now, be safe!
