"WTF? THE MTA….SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE..."

Hi Friends!

Today's WTF? © stevenn beck

Today…more MTA inefficiency and disdain for its customers:

1- I was running a little late for a medical appointment early this afternoon up in midtown. Hopping on the #1 train at Houston Street, the train stopped cold between Houston and Christopher Streets. The conductor stated that we were being held up due to a possibly injured passenger at 14th street. Sorry for the inconvenience.

2- Finally arriving at 14th - and really late now since I had to go up to 50th - I changed to the #2 "Express"…..only to hear the conductor say that the "Express" was being held in the station by the dispatcher due to "police activity….sorry for the inconvenience." (The #1 - of course! - had closed its doors by the time this announcement finished and had pulled out of the station.)

3- Eventually, the #2 made its way to Times Square/42nd street; now very late and prepared to walk the rest of the way to 50th (a local stop only), I heard an announcement that there was an uptown #1 train(probably the SAME #1 I had abandoned 15 minutes or so before) was about to enter the station. So I waited, entered the train - and the conductor came on the loudspeaker to tell us that "due to signal trouble, the #1 was being held at the station…."sorry for the inconvenience".

So what was the problem: injured passenger? police action? signal trouble? all at the same time?

I mean, WTF?

Bye for now, be safe-

Stevenn
